Generals Cross Country Invitational

Both men's and women's teams started off the season with a second place finishes on the always challenging Dick Miller Memorial Cross Country Course.  The womens started the day off placing 2nd out of 9 teams while the men placed 2nd out of 8 schools.

Women's Recap:
The Lady Generals placed 6 runners in the top 25 as freshmen Jackie Burns led the way with a 2nd place finish overall (20:41).  Fellow freshmen Becca Taylor crossed the line 7th overall with a time of 21:41.  Senior Liz Twentyman crossed the line in 12th (22:27), Freshmen Elizabeth Webb was right behind in 14th (22:47), while sophomore Jessica Buckingham rounded out the top five placing 19th (23:25).  Freshmen Jennifer Janes crossed the line 19th.  Senior Ashley Brown came in 33rd with a time of 24:28, Senior Sarah Williamson was 26th (24:48) Freshmen Regina Mills 38th (24:54).  Freshmen Sara Ratzel crossed the line in 42nd (25:12), with sophomore Nicole Merrullo (26:27)and senior Karen blackburn (26:38) finishing 53rd and 56th respectively. 

Men's Recap:
The Generals put 7 runners in the top 25 to finish 2nd of 8 schools.  Sophomore Alex Mahoney started the year off with a strong win and course record time of 27:46.  Freshmen Michael Welsh had a solid first collegiate race showing with a 3rd place finish in 28:40).  Senior Andrew Johnson finished 10th with a time of 30:03, sophomore Andrew Friski  was 13th (30:26), and freshmen Alex Jackson rounded out the top five with a 15th place showing in 30:52.  Sophomore Michael Keenen (in his first ever college race) finished 21st (31:42), freshmen Anthony Ives was 23rd (31:56), junior David Kronenfeld came in 27th (32:40), and sophomore Kevin Donovan was 40th in 34:12.
