2006 Generals Cross Country Invitational
The Washington and Lee University Cross Country teams kicked off their 06 season hosting the Generals XC Invitational on the challenging Dick Miller Cross Country Course. The women finished first out of 10 teams (winning by 26 points) and the men finished 1st out of 7 teams (also winning by 26 points).
The women started the day off as sophomore Becca Taylor won the difficult 5k course in 20:54. Freshmen Mary Frances Weatherly (4th - 21:11), Dorothy Todd ( 6th - 21:20) and Annie Kasper (10th - 22:10) came in 4th, 6th and10th with senior Jenny Ratzel closing out the top five in 12th (22:16). The Generals top five had an :82 second spread. Freshmen Lizz Krausnick crossed the line 21st while Junior Jessica Buckingham was 26th rounded out the top 7 for W&L.

The men's harriers used a strong pack to win their opening meet. :7seconds separated the top four runners who finished 7ht, 8th, 9th & 10th! Only :63 seconds separated the top 5. Junior Andrew Friski lead the way finishing 7th (30:14), Freshmen Ben Stutts crossed the line 8th (30:16), classmates Elliott O'Brien was 9th (30:17) and Stuart Vassey was 10th (30:21). Junior Michael Keenan was the Generals #6 runner finishing 16th overall with Freshmen Rob Saliers rounding out the top 7 with a 17th place finish.
