2007 Bucknell Winter Classic

The Generals headed up to Bucknell University to compete against division 1,2 and 3 schools in the Winter Classic meet at Gerhard Fieldhouse. Highlighting the day were 2-NCAA Qualifying performances, 6 School Records, 8-Event Winners and 17-Top 3 finishes.

Both Stacy Doornbos and Maggie Sutherland turned in NCAA provisional qualifying marks.  Doornbos placed 1st overall in the Long Jump breaking her own school record and an NCAA mark of 17'9.75" she also was the top D3 finisher in the 200m breaking her school record with a time of 26.88, she also turned in a 3rd place (among D3) in the 400m running 60.24.  Maggie Sutherland, finished first overall in the High Jump breaking her school record and clearing an NCAA qualifying height of 5'5".  She also was the 3rd D3 finisher in the 55m hurdles breaking her school record running 8.95.  Elizabeth Webb placed 1st overall in the 800m running 2:26.26.  Webb was part of a trio that all ran faster then the previous school record in the Mile.  Webb (5:25.71) joined Jackie Burns (5:18.97) who was 3rd overall and the top D3 finisher and Becca Taylor (5:19.52).  Lil Brander also was the top D3 finisher in the pole vault clearing 9'4.25"   The 4x400m team of Maggie Sutherland, Sallie Armstrong, Tara Hildenbrand and Stacy Doornbos finished 2nd overall and was the top D3 team crossing  the line in 4:11.42.

 The men saw strong performances all over.  Michael Welsh was the top D3 placer in the 3,000m running 9:04.32.  Drew Martin was also the top D3 finisher in the Pole Vault clearing 13'9.25".  Ben Wilson finished 2nd among D3 throwers in the Shot Put with a toss of 41'4.25" Alex Jackson opened up his season running the 5,000m with a time 16:44.22 to be the 2nd D3 finisher.  The 4x400m Relay team of Chip McCoy, Matt Harrison, Rob Saliers and Marshall French finished 2nd D3 running 3:34.16.  Billy Billington was 3rd D3 in the Weight Throw with a toss of 41'4.25" and Steven Rivoir was 3rd among D3 runners in the Mile crossing the line in 4:34.84
