Women's Track & Field Cracks The Top 25 In National Rankings
The Washington and Lee women's indoor track & field team was picked 21st in the February 6 edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III National Poll.
2007 was the first time W&L had been ranked and the women currently own their highest ranking in program history.
On the season, the Blue and White have set numerous school records and are led by freshman Summer Lollie (Mesquite, Texas./Dr. John D Horn), who has school records in the 60-meter dash (8.29) and the 55-meter dash (7.45). Junior Elizabeth Webb (Middlebury, Va./Wakefield) also set a school and ODAC record in the mile (5:07.36), while junior Grace Andrews (Dyersburg, Tenn./Dyersburg) had a toss of 44' 6" to set a school record in the 20-pound weight throw. Additionally, junior Stacy Doornbos (Roswell, Ga./Lassiter) set a school record in the pentathlon with a total of 3,096 points.
