16th Annual W&L
Track & Field Invitational

The Generals opened up the outdoor season hosting the 16th Annual W&L Invitational.  One of the unique aspects to the W&L Invite is the combined scoring of the men's and women's teams.  The Generals won the overall combined team title for the second year in a row.  Individually, the women placed 2nd out of 6 teams and the men were 3rd out of 7 teams.  In all, the Generals had 5- First place finishes and 26- Top five performances.

Men's Recap:
For the men, Junior Michael Keenan led the charge as he placed 2nd in the Pole Vault and 3rd in the 110m hurdles.  Freshmen Billy Billington picked up right where he left off indoors, he placed 2nd in the Discus and 5th in the Shot Put.  Freshmen Brian Bondurant was another who scored in two events.  He was 4th in both the Long Jump and the Triple Jump.  Junior Marshall French was 6th in both the 400m and the 200m.  Freshmen Joseph Roane won the Triple Jump, Sophomore Brad Bender placed second in the Long Jump, Sophomore Ben Wilson was third in the Shot Put, Senior Andrew Fischer was third in the Javelin, Sophomore Robbie Varipapa crossed the line 4th in the 1500m, classmate Chip McCoy finished 5th in the 400m and Sean Hurdiss was 6th in the 100m.

Women's Recap:
For the women Freshmen Maggie Sutherland placed 2nd in both the High Jump and the 100m hurdles.  Classmate Dorothy Todd was 2nd in the 800m after placing 4th in the 1500m.  Sophomore Stephanie Stelter was 4th in the 400m hurdles and 5th in the 100m hurdles.  Sophomore Alysen Kuck won the Javelin and finished 3rd in the High Jump.  Tara Hildebrand placed 3rd in both the 100m and 200m.  Becca Taylor was the winner in the 800m and Elizabeth Webb crossed the line first in the 5,000m, while Freshmen Sallie Armstrong placed 2nd in the 400m hurdles.  The 4x100m Relay team of Armstrong, Sara Behmerwohld, Stephanie Stelter and Dalena Moser was also victorious.
