2006 NCAA South / Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships

The Generals travelled down to Atlanta Georgia for the NCAA South / Southeast Regional Championships. The Women tied for third place out of 26 teams. With Jackie Burns and Kat Telfeyan earning automatic births to the National championship meet. The men placed 7th out of 21 teams with three earning all-region honors.
Sophomore Jackie Burns and Freshmen Kat Telfeyan both earned a trip to the NCAA national championship meet leading the lady Generals to a third place team finish. Burns finished 5th over-all out of 177 runners crossing the line in 23:13. Telfeyan finished 9th in 23:40. Sophomore Becca Taylor was 22nd running 24:32 and freshmen Lizz Krausnick was 34th in 25:04. All four earned All-NCAA South Region honors. Just missing all region honors was senior Jenny Ratzel finishing in 36th (25:13).
The men had three runners earn All-Region honors to lead the team to a 7th place finish. Sophomore Vance Berry led the way with an 18th place showing running 26:12. Classmate Michael Welsh was just behind in 21st crossing the line in 26:58 and junior Tom Brower was 35th running 27:19. Sophomore Anthony Ives placed 64th running 28:37 and junior Andrew Friski was 69th with a time of 28:45.
