2007 Indoor ODAC Track & Field Championships
The Generals competed in the 07 ODAC Indoor Championships. The most exciting meet of the season saw W&L have 5-Individual Champions, 13-All Conference Performances, 7-School Records, and 2-Conference Championship Meet Records.
The women placed 2nd with a record total of 161 points, just 13 point shy of the team title in what was a very close and exciting meet. This was an entire team performance where everyone made a major impact. Sophomore Stacy Doornbos won the Triple Jump (10.57m), was 2nd in the High Jump (1.62), 2nd in the Long Jump (5.20), 4th in the 400m (59.99) and 6th in the 200m (26.93). Freshmen Maggie Sutherland won the High Jump (1.62m), placed 3rd in the Triple Jump (10.25m), 4th in the 55m Hurdles (8.92) breaking her own school record and placed 5th in the Long Jump (5.01m). The distance crew turned in dominating performances. The Distance Medley Relay of Lizz Krausnick, Dalena Moser, Jessica Buckingham and Dorothy Todd won the meet running 13.29.01 (setting a championship meet record). In the Mile, the Generals placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th with the top three all breaking the previous championship meet record. Sophomore Becca Taylor won the race (5:17.42), setting a new school record. Classmate Elizabeth Webb was 2nd (5:18.34), Jackie Burns 3rd (5:21.64) and Freshmen Kat Telfeyan 4th (5:24.95). Next up was the 800m. Freshmen Lizz Krausnick won the meet crossing the line in 2:23.88 (setting a new school and championship meet record). Elizabeth Webb was 2nd (2:25.20)-also going under the previous school and meet record times. Freshman Dorothy Todd finished 4th (2:27.64) and Becca Taylor was 6th (2:33.63). The 5,000m saw Jackie Burns place 2nd (18:56.80), Kat Telfeyan 3rd (19:09.62), Becca Taylor 4th (19:14.70) and Elizabeth Webb 5th (19:15.39). Other strong performances were turned in by Liz Brandler who placed 2nd in the Pole Vault (3.15m) and 5th in the Triple Jump (9.86). Grace Andrews was 4th in the Shot Put (10.15m) and 6th in the Weight Throw (11.44)-breaking her own school record. Stephanie Stelter (9.42) and Sallie Armstrong (9.43) placed 5th and 6th in the 55m Hurdles. Mary Frances Weatherly was 6th in the Pole Vault (2.45m) and the 4x400m Relay team of Maggie Sutherland, Sallie Armstrong, Tara Hildenbrand and Stacy Doornbos finished 2nd running 4:13.21.
The men placed 4th at the championship meet a saw numerous fine performances. Freshmen Billy Billington placed 2nd in the Shot Put (13.67m) and 5th in the Weight Throw (14.78m). Freshmen Ben Goetsch was 2nd in the High Jump clearing 1.88m. Classmate Ryan Castle placed 5th in the High Jump (1.83m) and was 6th in the Triple Jump (12.43m). Sophomore Ben Wilson was 6th in both the Shot Put (12.85m) and Weight Throw (12.88m). Classmate Drew Martin was 3rd in the Pole Vault clearing 4.35m. Junior Larry Clark had a big PR in the 55m Hurdles placing 6th crossing the line in 8.50. Classmate Steven Rivoir was 6th in the 800m (2:06.81). Sophomore Michael Welsh finished 5th in the 5,000m running 15:59.70. The Distance Medley Relay team of Alex Jackson, Matt Harrison, Rob Saliers, and Michael Welsh placed 4th running 11:03.79. The 4x400m relay team of Chip McCoy, Marshall French, Brian Bondurant and Matt Harrison placed 3rd running 3:31.93.
