Duke / Asics Invitational
The Generals wrapped up finals and headed south to compete in the competitive Duke / Asics Invitational in Durham, North Carolina. 2,000 athletes from 78 schools competed in the meet.
The meet was highlighted by Nathan Johnson in the 3,000m steeplechase. He ran 9:19.21 and was the top D3 finisher and was 7th overall. His time set a new school record and qualified for NCAA national championships.
Also for the men, Andrew Johnson placed 3rd (D3) in the 1500m with a time of 4:10.62. In the same race Jack Jeong placed 5th (D3) in 4:18.94. Steve Chambers was the 5th D3 finisher in the 5,000m in a time of 15:42.52. Chris Walker was the 3rd D3 finisher in the hammer throw with a toss of 108-5
For the women, Sara Behmerwohld led the way with a first place D3 finish in the 100 hurdlers (16.56), she also finished 6th overall. Meredith Walker was the 4th D3 finisher in the 100m (13.59) and was 6th in the 200m (27.97). Mary Christopher finished 3rd (D3) in the 1500m running on conference leading time of 4:57.85
