2005: Welsh established himself as one of the South/Southeast region’s top freshman in 2005. Consistently running as the Generals’ number three runner, Welsh’s freshman season was highlighted by a fourth place finish at the Virginia DII/III State meet, a fifth place finish at the ODAC Championship, and a 29th place finish at the South/Southeast Regional Championship, earning All-State, All-ODAC, and All-Region distinctions, respectively.
Prep: Welsh was a two-time All-State and three-time All-Midstate selection at Tullahoma. He established himself as one of the most consistent harriers in Tennessee by placing 8th and the Tennessee State Meet in 2003 and 11th in 2004.

TRACK
Outdoor 2006: Welsh ran a personal best at 5000m at the Penn Invitational (16:08.27).
Indoor 2006: Focusing on the 5000m, Welsh ran a season best of 16:22.11 at the Dickinson Invitational and placed fifth at the distance at the ODAC Championship.
Prep: Welsh split his spring seasons between Varsity Soccer and Varsity Track. 2005 was his most successful year, recording personal bests in the 800m and 3200m.
