Hammer World Record Holder
Youri Sedykh Winter Training Camp

Dates of camp: START: Friday, December 17Registration is from 11 am 1 pm. Camp will start around 1:30 pm

CONCLUDE: Tuesday, December 21Will likely end around 1:30 pm

If you need to come laterseveral athletes have conflicts with Friday final exams-- that is fine. We will pro-rate your fee.

Cost for camp: $225.00

Cost for housing: $137.00 (based on a price of $683 for a condo that sleeps 5)

Cost for coaches: We would like to give coaches a break on the cost, since they will not be throwing. Judging from the number of athletes interested, it looks like we can give discount to coachesespecially if they are bringing athletes with them. I will let you know as we tally the responses in the next few days.

Condo information: I will phone the company tomorrow to figure out how they want to handle payment. I will let you all know by the end of the day tomorrow.

If you would like to be placed with other throwers and coaches who are looki ng to fill the 5 beds in the condo, I will match people up, and arrange for people to get in contact with each other.

Camp Location: The camp is sponsored by the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department in Charleston, SC.

We will throw and weight train at Wando High School, in Charleston, SC. This is about a 10 min. drive from Isle of Palms, where the condos are located. We will likely rent a few vans and shuttle folks to and from the training site.

Flights: Nearest airport is Charleston, SC (CHS). Myrtle Beach (MYR) is 1.5-2 hr. drive away and is the next closest major airport.

Level of thrower: All ability levels are welcomeincluding beginners AND masters level. Beginners will learn the basics from another coach but all will work with and be coached by Youri on a daily basis.

Setup of Camp: Athletes will be split into groups based on ability level. Each group will then rotate in the circle to have Youri critique your throws. Groups will throw at least twice a day.

** The main goal of the camp is to THROW so we will be doing a lot of this.

For the time when you are not throwing (or eating!), there will be other seminars offered on topics like weight training, psychology of competing, throws specific plyo, drills, medballs. These topics will be covered by other elite athletes and coaches. Youri will also give several talks throughout the 5 days.

Your contact info: I NEED IT! Please send me your phone number and mailing addresses so that I can send you registration forms. I will also email you the registrations. I hope to get these out by the end of the week.

Equipment: Please bring your own hammer(s). Since most of you are preparing for indoor season, we will also throw the weight. We will supply a few weights but you are welcome to bring your own.
