W&L Kicked off its outdoor season hosting the 14th annual W&L Invitational.  The Generals dealt with some unique and windy weather conditions to show some strong performance to start off the outdoor season.

The men were led by Nathan Johnson, who was named the meets outstanding performer with his double 1,500m (4:04.54) and 800m (2:00.66) wins. Steve Chambers completed the same double finishing 5th and 6th respectively in 4:14.18 and 2:03.18.  Andrew Fischer was victorious in the Javelin with a toss of 145-8.  Walker Duncan set a new school record on Friday night in the Hammer Throw with his 136-0 effort.

For The women, Meredith Walker won the Long Jump (16-2.5).  Blair Haws (2:30.54) and Mary Christopher (2:31.58) finished 3rd and 4th in the 800m, while Jenny Ratzel finished 4th in the 1500m with a 5:20.86.  Emily Barker kicked off her season in the throws placing 2nd in the Javelin (99-7) and 3rd in the Shot Put (33-7.5).
